On the 8th of September took place The City of Green Buildings Conference 2015 at the City Plaza Hotel in Cluj-Napoca where the entities involved in building green and sustainable buildings attended.
„The City of Green Buildings Conference 2015″ was a special event created to bring together experts and professionals that represent the companies “who cover all the sustainable buildings value chain”.
The sessions during the conference approached topics regarding sustainable buildings development, energy consumption inside buildings, architectural aspects concerning sustainable buildings construction and rehabilitation, financing such projects, all these from a complex perspective that takes into consideration practical, political, commercial and implementation elements.
The keynote speakers who honoured us with their presence were Şerban Ţigănaş (President of the Romanian Order of Architects), Frank Hajdinjak (CEO – E.ON România), Bogdan Lupu (Manager Philips Lighting University CEE), Dr. Dorin Beu (President of Romanian National Lighting Committee), Dr. Andrei Ceclan, Dr. Călin Ciugudeanu (Technical University of Cluj-Napoca), Anamaria Stroia (Environment Expert), Horaţiu Başa ( General Manager of TESTO România), Remus Marusciac (Architect and BREEAM International Assessor). Their speeches were around the main theme of this year’s conference, “To Build or To Transform”.

Moreover, during the Conference, were presented the two projects developed by the participants at The City of Green Buildings Academy 2015. They were divided during the educational program in two groups. One of the groups had the task develop the concept of a new sustainable building having which would serve as a student dorm and the other group had the task to develop a concept for retrofitting an existing building with the same destination.
